Arteta makes 7 changes, no Jesus after goal promise: Arsenal’s predicted XI vs PSV

Arsenal are back in Europa League action on Thursday evening as they head to the Netherlands to face PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool have already set the benchmark this week after a win against Ajax in the Netherlands, and the Gunners will be hoping to follow suit.

Arsenal, of course, have already qualified for the knockout stages of this competition after picking up 10 points from their first four games, but a result here would guarantee that they top the group.

PSV are no pushovers though, and a victory for the Dutch side here would potentially see them usurp the Gunners as the group leaders.

With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting Arsenal’s starting XI for this one.

We think that Mikel Arteta will make a massive seven changes from the team that drew with Southampton at the weekend.

The Europa League is often viewed as an opportunity to rotate your squad, and that is precisely what we think Arteta will opt to do here.

Matt Turner and Rob Holding come in – as they have in every Champions League game so far this season, while Kieran Tierney also comes in at left-back to make it five out of five starts in this competition.

Meanwhile, Albert Sambi Lokonga starts next to Granit Xhaka in the heart of the midfield.

Fabio Vieira starts in the number 10 role that is often occupied by Martin Odegaard, while Reiss Nelson and Bukayo Saka start out wide.

Up front, Eddie Nketiah once again gets a shot up front, despite the fact Gabriel Jesus vowed to score in this game in his pre-match press conference.

This is a great chance for a few fringe players to once again shine here, and Arsenal will be hoping to secure top spot in the group with a result in Eindhoven.
